Happy Friday!  We are ending our week here on the WeGush blog with a wonderful tribute by a recent Simmons College graduate. Most of us have that one teacher who made a profound impact on who we were and perhaps even on who we are presently.

For me, that was my high school English teacher, Ms. DeRiso.  My grandmother always told me that I should be a writer, but, well, she was my grandma.  She has to say nice things, right? Ms. DeRiso was the first person who encouraged me to connect my two loves– writing and art– in ways that I never thought possible.  She made me believe in myself.  I am incredibly grateful.

Here’s Lindsay, sharing her own thoughts on a special teacher.

Happy summer to all the teachers!  WeGush thanks you for all that you have done and that you do for us and our children.
