BOSTON –  June 12 – WeGush is thrilled (and grateful!) to announce that our new free iOS app has launched and is now available in the app store at: appsto.re/us/ReiQ6.i

Every day, we experience kindnesses large and small. Friends, family, colleagues, employees, vendors, and customers make our lives brighter. The new WeGush app makes it easy to express your gratitude to them before the moment slips away. WeGush allows you to express your appreciation anytime, anywhere.

Did somebody just make your day? Or help you out of a jam? Or are they just generally awesome? Send them a Gush to let them know how you feel! The WeGush app puts the power of appreciation at your fingertips. Simply choose from a selection of beautiful WeGush sentiments of appreciation, add optional text of your own if you’d like, and send a text from your Apple/iOS device. Never miss another opportunity to say thank you!

“Gratitude is universal,” says Martha Huntley, Founder and CEO of WeGush. “Everyone feels it and everyone needs it, but we don’t always share it. Studies show that gratitude makes people feel better emotionally and physically – true for both the giver and the receiver. Increasing gratitude is one of the simplest and meaningful ways to make the world a better place, and WeGush aims to increase the amount of gratitude spread in the world.”

After users send a Gush, the screen shows an ever-growing number that indicates the number of Gushes cumulatively sent by all WeGush users. Says Martha Huntley, “Watching that tally increase is such a wonderful feeling. Each Gush sent means that someone was told they are special, and is there anything more meaningful than that?”

WeGush Inc., a Boston-based organization and 2013 MassChallenge semi-finalist, aligns with corporate sponsors who are interested in promoting social good as well as emotional and digital connections. Sponsors are given the opportunity to have their branding in front of users who believe in gratitude and good works, they are also given an info page and link their website.

WeGush is currently highlighting the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), on the app. The PMC is an annual bike-a-thon for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country.

The app is free in the App Store through iTunes and works required iOS or higher. It works on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, and is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. An Android version is slated for late 2015. The WeGush app includes a setting for users to set daily, weekly, and monthly reminders to express gratitude. WeGush also offers a web-based group appreciation product for groups to express appreciation to an individual – such as a team celebrating a coach at the end of a season, a classroom celebrating a teacher, or an office celebrating a coworker.
